Lomaspilis marginata (Linnaeus, 1758)

Clouded Border

Wingspan: 24-28mm

Imago: bivoltine - May to August. A moderately common species readily attracted to light and recorded from all sites with woodland, heathland and wetland habitats.

Larvae: feed on poplars, including aspen, sallows and hazel. Overwinters as pupae often remaining in that stage for between two and four seasons.
