Phyllodesma ilicifolia (Linnaeus, 1758)

Wingspan: male 30-40mm female 35-45mm

A univoltine species flying from April to June when it is attracted to light and has been recorded from all upland sites and is a not uncommon species at Las Descargues. A species of open woodland and scrubby grassland.

Larvae feed on Vaccinium, Salix, Betula, Populus, Prunus, Quercus, Genista etc. Overwintering takes place in the pupa affixed to vegetation near the ground.
