Zeuzera pyrina (Linnaeus, 1758)

Leopard Moth
Zeuzère du poirier

Wingspan: male 35-55mm female 45-65mm

A univoltine, occasional bivoltine species in the southern parts of its range on the wing from June to October. It is an occasional visitor to light and has been recorded from all woodland sites including the open, stunted woodland of the Causse.

Larvae feed on various trees and shrubs with feeding lasting up to three years. Pupation takes place in the larval gallery.
