Pempeliella dilutella ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan: 18-23mm

A univoltine species on the wing from May to August when it is attracted to light and has been recorded from all calcareous meadow sites and the open woodland of the Causse.

Larvae feed on thyme Thymus spp. and Globularia spp. and are always associated with the yellow ant Lasius flavus. Pupation takes place in a cocoon in the soil or amongst leaf detritus.
