Lacanobia suasa ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Dog's Tooth
La Noctuelle enfumée

Wingspan: 32-42mm

A univoltine but scarce species here at Las Descargues, flying from May to August. It visits light and has been recorded from mv lights at Las Descargues and from the ridge meadows. A species favouring damp habitats although it is encountered more rarely in drier environments.

The larva is polyphagous on herbaceous species, Plantago, Chenopodium, Atriplex, Trifolium etc. before overwintering as a pupa below ground.
