Phycitodes binaevella (Hübner, 1813)

Wingspan: 22-27mm

A bivoltine species flying from May to September when it is a regular visitor to light and has been recorded from Las Descargues and the unmanaged meadows of the ridge and Causse.

The larva feeds on Chrysanthemum, Artemisia, Cirsium, Carduus spp. before overwintering as a fully grown larva. Pupation takes place in spring in a cocoon on the soil surface.
