Charanyca trigrammica (Hufnagel, 1766)

Treble Lines

Wingspan: 32-38mm

A univoltine species flying from mid-April to July when it is a frequent visitor to light and has been recorded from all the Las Descargues traps and those situated in or near heathland, grasslands and the more open woodland. The grey form is pallidalinea and is recorded most years at Las Descargues.

The larva feeds on various herbaceous plants overwintering as a small larva before pupating underground in early spring.
