Anticlea badiata ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Shoulder Stripe
La Cidarie baie

Wingspan: 29-36mm

Imago: a woodland species that can also be found in hedgerows and areas of scrub. A univoltine species on the wing from March to early May. Despite having an abundance of suitable habitat this is an uncommon species at Las Descargues.

Larva: feed on various species of wild rose and hawthorn before pupating.
