Callopistria juventina (Stoll, 1782)

La Noctuelle de la fougère

Wingspan: 34-36mm

A univoltine possible bivoltine species on the wing from June to August or even mid-September in exceptional years. A species recorded wherever bracken is found; broadleaved woodland, heathland, woodland margins and scrub. It is attracted to light and is a frequent visitor to the Las Descargues garden traps.

Larva feeds on Pteridium aquilinum, overwintering as a larva.
