Chlorissa viridata (Linnaeus, 1758)

Small Grass Emerald
La Phalène verte des callunes

Wingspan: 24-27mm

Imago: univoltine - May - July. Seldom visits light but can be disturbed during the day from birch and heather along the woodland margins of the ridge woodland at Las Descargues.

Larva: feeds on Betula, Calluna, Quercus, Prunus species. Overwinters as a pupa.
