Monopis weaverella (Scott, 1858)

Wingspan: 13-18mm

A univoltine species flying from early-May to August although it appears most abundant in June. It is attracted to light in small numbers and has been recorded only from Las Descargues but none of the lowland sites, it is never common wherever it is found.

Larvae have been reported from bird's nests but recently also from the carcases of fox and rabbit and from faeces.
