Acronicta aceris (Linnaeus, 1758)

La Noctuelle de l'Úrable

Wingspan: 41-49mm

A bivoltine species on the wing in May and June and agin from July to the end of August when it comes frequently to light and has been recorded from all woodland an scrub traps but has been taken at all sites.

Larvae are polyphagous on the leaves of Acer, Populus, Salix, Ulmus spp. Overwinters occasionally twice in leaf litter or crevice in the bark of the foodplant.
