Mompha sturnipennella (Treitschke, 1833)

Wingspan: 9-13mm

A bivoltine species with adults on the wing from July till the following May. A scarce visitor to the Las Descargues lights. A species of the rough unmanaged meadows of the plateau.

Larvae of the first generation make a gall in the main flowering stem of Chamaenerion angustifolium with the second generation feeding in the seedpod. Pupation occurs outside the stem and seedpod.
