Setina irrorella (Linnaeus, 1758)

Dew Moth
L'Endrosie diaphane

Wingspan: 22-36mm

A univoltine species with an occasional second generation in the autumn. More usually on the wing from May to August, a scarce visitor to light but more often encountered at dusk and dawn or even during the afternoon when males can be taken on the wing. A species of calcareous meadows.

Larvae feed on lichen growing on rocks overwintering as larvae, pupation takes place in a light cocoon between rocks.
