Hydraecia micacea (Esper, 1789)

Rosy Rustic

Wingspan: 30-44mm

A univoltine species on the wing from July to November when it is a scarce visitor to the mv lights at Las Descargues with only two records to date.

The larva feeds in spring on the stem and later the root of the foodplant, found on various herbaceous plants and fruit overwintering as an egg with pupation taking place in the soil without a cocoon.
