Photography & image use

All images have been produced on Nikon DSLR cameras equipped with Nikkor lenses. Species size has dictated lens choice and various lenses have been used from a reversed 20mm on a PB6 bellows unit for the smallest micro moths to 60mm and 105mm micro Nikkors for the larger species. A heavy Mk I Benbo tripod and Novoflex micro-focussing rail have been used for all shots. Natural daylight has been used where possible but where necessary a Nikon macro flash and reflectors have been used. All images have been shot in RAW format on to compact flash cards with the images converted to DNG in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom before being copied to the website as high resolution jpegs. Where required, minor editing has been carried out using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom or Adobe Photoshop CS3.

All images, apart from those contributed by the guests mentioned on the Contributor's page and acknowledged as such with the image in question, have been taken by me and the copyright remains mine. I would ask that images are not copied for use in other web sites and no direct links made to any of the images without my written permission. Although I have no objection to images being used for educational, personal and non-commercial purposes, again, please seek my permission and please ensure that ownership is acknowledged. No images may be used for commercial purposes without my written permission.

Please note that high resolution images are available for most of the species portrayed.
